The Brief
The school was looking for a reliable solar PV solution that would generate clean, renewable electricity while helping to reduce rising energy costs. As a busy primary school with significant daytime electricity usage, it was important that the system was designed to maximise on-site energy generation during school hours when demand is highest.
The project also needed to provide excellent long-term value, require minimal maintenance, and support the school’s commitment to environmental responsibility. The installation would not only reduce operating costs but also demonstrate the school’s dedication to sustainability for pupils, parents and the wider community.

Our Solution
We carried out a comprehensive site survey, assessing the school’s roof space, energy consumption and electricity usage patterns to design the most effective solar PV system for the building.
Following our assessment, we produced a detailed, fully itemised quotation outlining the proposed system, expected energy generation and projected financial savings. We worked closely with the school throughout the planning process, providing technical advice and supporting documentation to ensure the system met both the school’s operational requirements and long-term energy objectives.
Components We Used
- 50 x Jinko Tiger Neo 440W N-Type All Black Mono solar panel
- Fox ESS T Series (G3) 20kW 3ph String Inverter inverter
- Emlite EMP1 3ph Meter
The Results
Following the installation of the solar PV system, the primary school is now generating a significant proportion of its daytime electricity from clean, renewable energy. By producing power on-site during school hours, when electricity demand is at its highest, the school has reduced its reliance on grid electricity and is benefiting from lower energy costs. The system has also helped to reduce the school’s carbon emissions, supporting its commitment to sustainability and creating a greener environment for pupils, staff and the wider school community.
In addition to the financial and environmental benefits, the solar installation provides long-term value with minimal maintenance requirements. The school can monitor the system’s performance to see how much energy is being generated, offering opportunities to engage pupils in learning about renewable energy, climate change and environmental responsibility. The result is a future-proof investment that delivers ongoing savings while helping the school meet its sustainability goals for many years to come.

What the Clients Had to Say
“Elektra Smart Energy were brilliant – they held our hands the whole way through the process. From non-experts to have someone like Elektra deal with the project and really support us to where we are now with all the solar panels installed on the School Roof. I would recommend going to Elektra as they are brilliant at what they do!”
